The revised BIS Laboratory Recognition Scheme (BIS LRS 2018) was approved and implemented w.e.f 14 Aug 2018 in
order to cater to the needs of new BIS Act and Rules and Regulations and the various conformity assessment schemes of
BIS. Interactive Meetings were held in six locations throughout the country with Outside Recognized Laboratories and
Government laboratories to explain new LRS and obtain their feedback.
